The Tygers Of Pan Tang were formed in 1978 in the U.K. in the seaside town of Whitley Bay. They became by the uprise of the NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) immediately one of the leading and most iconic bands. By the eternal Top Ten Charts of the NWOBHM they are gloriously ranked at place SEVEN! After their first top successful years; live by all shows at major metal festivals and by their cd’s “Wild Cat”, “Spellbound” and “The Cage” they had afterwards their ups and downs. “Tyger” Robb Weir on guitars is the only remaining original line-up member. It was grace to his never ending love to the band, never give-up and force that the Tygers are roaring loud again, powerful and full of raw energy like in their early top years!  He’s gathered an excellent artistry of musicians around him by Jacopo Meille on vocals,Micky Crystal on guitars, Gav Gray on bass and Craig Ellis on drums & percussion. And here it is in 2016 their new cosmologic, starry self-titled strike “Tygers Of Pan Tang”.

The cd starts by “Only The Brave” after a futuristic sound-intro. The NWOBHM puristic sounds have vanished into virtuoso, diversified metal-twangs with a buckshot of modern hard-rock. The axe-duels by Micky and Robb are an absolute extravaganza. Jacopo proves again why he’s such a great, sinewy front-shouter. A “Royal Flush” by Robb as pick. Hell of a hooky opener, full of killin’ dynamite power. “Glad Rags” could have turned in the second half of the good ole’ 80’ies in the U.S. to a big stadium rock hit with catchy background-refrains. “Never Give In” is to bestride by speed-metal duels by the lords of the axes Crystal and Weir. The rhythm gang by Gav and Craig enforce the hellish sound by their vigor-plays. “The Reason Why” is the first, seductive and enchanting ballad with bluesy attitude. “Doin’ It Again” continues the legacy of the Tygers NWOBHM headbangin’ and metallic rockers. “Blood Red Sky” can be entitled a new modern metal-hymn. Varied heavy axe-solos, murderous chant by Jacopo and rhythm-chords melting to a melodious half-ballad middle-jam, before the tygers start their metal-hunt again to end in a furious, sensational metal end-jam make it to the absolute highlight of the cd. The acoustical “Angel In Disguise” is a beautiful ballad with sensitive vocals by  Jacopo and acoustical guitar serenade duets by Micky and Robb. By the dreamlike melodies it could have been much longer by play-time. The “Devil You Know” is dominated by stompin’ bass and rhythm plays & razor-sharp axe-riffs – a groovy metal-rockin’ grand final.

A haunting wild tiger-roar howls as the end, an expression like we are ready and hot as band for the future.

Phenomenal sound-production by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Mike Tramp)

“Tygers Of Pan Tang” definitely one of the top cd’s to be ranked in the worldwide metal charts of 2016*****. Metal is alive gratitude also to the Tygers. Metal-Freaks will be ever so hooked that they will play it again and again. Mister sandman will make them to rock to sleep by it and to start their sweet dreams. All music fans will eagerly love these hot rhythms. Play Em Loud for your mutha’s!
