Ski Team is the brainchild of Lucie Lozinski with a rotating list of collaborators, including her brother Ian Lozinski. Her sound ranges from melancholy bedroom acoustic to Americana to indie pop with electronic influence. “I write about my relationships with people and places. I’m writing vulnerably, from some subconscious place, so my songs are about serious experiences, but in an unserious way. Like how monks are. They’re attuned to what matters, but there’s always levity in it when you’re looking at the human experience from a distance. Life is beautiful and sad and funny. Musicians often have this idea that love songs are cheap, like the rom-coms of music, but I personally don’t know anything deeper than love. Feeling it, wanting it, or losing it—in any part of your life—is the most human thing I can think of. So I suppose everything I write is a love song its own way.
