My new song, "The Medicine," was written after a family reached out to me in 2017 who had lost their daughter to a fentanyl overdose while she was on a treatment waitlist.

I began to learn more about the growing epidemic of opioid abuse and how the number of families affected seemed too huge a number to ignore.

Since 2017, I personally know two more women who have succumbed to their addictions - both mothers. This issue started to affect me on a deeper level as it hit closer to home
