Helsinki-based post rock band Ptrov has released their powerful debutalbum "Voimala"

The music of Ptrov is not easy-to-chew fast food but rather art built on long and slow arcs and stark contrasts. When listening to the post-rock of Ptrov, one finds oneself drifting from a beautiful dreamlike trance to the crushing beat of massive walls of guitar.
The Helsinki-based band's instrumental music is a unique blend of different genres and influences. On the one hand, Voimala establishes itself as part of the continuum of the Finnish progressive rock canon, from Wigwam to Oranssi Pazuzu, while at the same time the album's aesthetics give a strong nod to the post-rock and post-metal giants Godspeed You!, Black Emperor, Swans, Mogwai and ISIS.
